Announcement Concerning New Services

Dear Customer,

Now that Prexar has been almost fully absorbed by USA Internet (a Maine based company), we can draw on our sister companies to offer many more features and services than would have otherwise been possible for our customers. Beginning October 10th, we will announce these services on the Prexar.com website. We will also write explanatory papers to assist your understanding of the terms, acronyms and technical concepts pertaining to these services. We will use and continually update the Prexar.com website to keep you posted.

The USA group of companies includes product research and development, engineering capabilities, and network services in the following areas:

  • Digital Telephony (phones and PBXs)
  • Analog to Digital Conversion (IADs and Channelbanks)
  • POWERFAIL 911
  • Internet access from dial-up to the latest DSL to university sized pipes
  • Very inexpensive plain old telephone service
  • Best of class Voice Over IP (VOIP)
  • Inexpensive Long Distance only (2.9 cents and heading lower)
  • FOLLOW-ME voicemail
  • Conference Bridging
  • Specialized domain registration services
  • And much, much more

To provide these converged services, we will be constructing Maine's largest ever competitive buildout under a new name to be announced shortly.

To elaborate, our proudest breakthrough is that we have developed the first high-end PBX (office, factory and chain store telephone systems) at 70% below today's market. A typical $20,000 system would cost $6,000. For enterprise use, a $100,000 would likely run $30,000. For small offices, we recommend hosting at our CO and pay a nominal rental fee. For multiple office locations, we can tie them all together as if they were an extension off of a single central telephone number with minimal cost.

Our engineering staff in Maine has developed many other capabilities. The first is FOLLOW-ME voicemail that e-mails the message to a designated address. The second is toll-free FAMILY conferencing (up to 10 family members can call in and chat at once; of course, we add the ability to mute certain parties). A third is BUSINESS conference bridges with up to 32 simultaneous callers. And some of our beta testers are coming out with even better ideas such as international toll-free conference bridges. We would love to hear your ideas.

Other products in the works include free 5X acceleration, free FTP, free pop-up blockers, our own Instant Messenger, new web mail, bigger email boxes, antispam, antivirus and firewalls. We are also developing peer-to-peer networking for possibly offering softphone, gaming and other sharing or coalescing abilities.

But you probably want to know what else we will do FREE for you? Let's start with toll-free telephone voicemail for 3 months or perhaps toll-free FAMILY conferencing for 3 months or a free 800 number for families. Pricing for these plans will be available in December. There will be no obligation to continue after the 3 free months. We will offer a discounted price to those who participate in the 3 free months of this BETA testing.

Our new dial-up network will be completed shortly. As you switch over use to this network, the high end services will be priced lower and the inexpensive services will be improved. We have already put into place several service improvements that our customers have requested. Email boxes were previously set at a 6 Meg capacity. These boxes have been expanded to 20 Megs. Personal web space was previously set at 5 Megs and these have now been expanded to 20 Megs.

Our web hosting customers currently receive five emails at 15 Megs with web hosting. The number of free emails with this service will increase to ten and will increase to 20 Megs. Professional web space will increase to 75 Megs.

Our first discussion paper, "Master Of Your Domain" will cover domains and emails and how they are actually related. The reason for this write-up will be to assist you in learning how to be independent of your ISP. Yes, we are an ISP, but you should have the flexibility to host your domains and email anywhere you want whether personal or business.

As you can see we are working on many new products, services and improvements. Please take advantage of our current improved offerings and watch for the release of more new offerings. Please make reasonable suggestions to suggestions@prexar.com.

Sincerely,
USA Research & Development Team
USA Support Team
